“Islamic Banking and Islamic Banking Models – Recommendations for Development of Islamic Banking in Europe” is the thesis topic for which Sabina Idrizi received her Master’s degree

Sabina Idrizi defended  her master thesis entitled: “Islamic Banking and Islamic Banking Models – Recommendations for Development of Islamic Banking in Europe” on 21 January 2010, at the Faculty of Business Administration at the South East European University in front of the comission composed of: Prof. Dr. Miroljub Shukarov, Prof.Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti and Prof.Dr. Izet Zeqiri.

The candidate in this master’s thesis concludes that:“It can be acertianed the countries with majority of Christian and Catholic population swiftly accepted Islamic financial disposal, but on the other side Islamic countries are  trading  lesser with non-Islamic securities.  According to Standard & Poor's 39% from bank clients in the countries from the Persian Gulf and Asia would decide for Islamic financial products and that is the case for Europe too.” The statement itself is important for the development of the thesis that Islamic securities can be a solid foundation for the development of a new approach for international financial investors. These securities are not offering only an alternative and opportunity for diversity of conventional portfolios, moreover; they enrich international financial practice.  

 

It should also be noted that Sabina Idrizi is the first student from the Roma community who defeneded her master’s thesis at SEE University.
