Rector of South East European University, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti thanked the participants for their cooperation and contribution. He asked everyone to work hard in order to ensure sustainability of this center even after the end of the three-year period and he also asked young people to join and gain the necessary expertise for the labor market.
“The concept and structure of this Center and the expertise that SEEU has, will enable these interest groups to be provided with training and opportunities in order to be more compatible with the needs of the labor market; young people will be enabled more realistically to choose their professions by providing them with various trainings, tips and workshops in order to express and realize their skills and dreams" said Rector Bexheti.
The coordinator of the Youth Resource Center, Azir Aliu, said that the idea of opening such a center started at SEEU, taking into account the experience, prepared staff and vision to have a direct social impact. Aziri promised that after a year we will meet again where and present the concrete results of this Center.
At the opening ceremony address speech had the Swiss Ambassador, H.E. Sybille Suter, who said that in the time of modern economic and business developments the cooperation between business and universities is very important.
UNDP Resident Representative Narine Sahakyan called on young people to join the center, but not only to aim for financial benefits, but to realize ideas and open their own businesses.
In his address speech, the Mayor of Gostivar, Arben Taravari, said that this is the third youth center to open in Gostivar and they have proven that cooperation between different institutions always brings concrete results.
Address speech had the Minister of Labor and Social Policy of North Macedonia, Ms. Jagoda Shahpaska, who presented the government's priorities in support of self-employment and youth employment projects.
YRC functions as an innovation and resource center for employment as well as self-employment, of youth with a focus on the jobs of the future. The center enriches and expands the services that students have on the SEE University campus, while the program also includes primary and secondary school students.
