The book Encyclopedia reactions was promoted at SEEU

The book Encyclopedia reactions was promoted at SEEU on Tuesday (24th November 2009), published by daily newspaper “Koha”, academicians, writers, famous scholars, intellectuals and students were present.

Prof Dr Abdylmenaf Bexheti, Pro-Rector Financial Issues and Physical development at SEEU, in his greatening speech on behalf of the Rector of South East European, said that the University was not indifferent toward the situation after the publishing of the Macedonian Encyclopedia. “Our reactions have been multidimensional, starting from the institutional reaction and reaction of intellectual authorities that are present here”. Prof. Bexheti moreover offered the support of SEEU (in the aspect of human resources), if a new Encyclopedia edition based on scientific facts would be published.

The famous writer and politician from Albania, Sabri Godo, said that this book presents “one unique experience in the Albanian journalism”. According to him, the incident that happened with the encyclopedia is a closed issue, because those that supported the edition were withdrawn against strong Albanian social and political reaction.  

For academician Ali Aliu, what is most worrying in this Encyclopedia, is the trend of inter-ethnic hate, pointing out that the book of Encyclopedia is self destructive for society and the hate instead of disappearing occasionally starts to deepen.The academician from Kosovo, Esat Stavileci, said that he has raised the issue of the Encyclopedia at the level of the European Academy of Sciences. Now institutions need to respond with the force of arguments against the false content of the Macedonian Encyclopedia.

The analyst and journalist, Branko Gerovski said “Macedonian science with this pamphlet Encyclopedia has lost the credibility before the international public opinion”. 

It should be noted that in this book are summarized texts that are published in the newspaper "Koha" that have to do with reactions of analysts, politicians and various institutions over the publication of the Macedonian Encyclopedia.
