Rector Bexheti: The visit of USAID Administrator Mark Green - acknowledgment that we are on the right path

Today (13th November 2019), within his visit to North Macedonia, the USAID Administrator Mark Green visited the South East European University. On this occasion, he met with the Rector Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti and other members of the University's management.

“The visit of the First Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), for us is of particular importance in terms of their acknowledgment that we are on the right path and that we are doing the right things. In fact, this visit is a continuation of some of the previous visits that we had from our US strategic partner, Indiana University and the working visit by the US Ambassador to Macedonia, HE Byrnes” said Rector Bexheti.

The visit of Mr. Green in our campus today is aimed at assessing the institutional, infrastructural, academic and research capacity of the University. We consider that such a high level visit is crucial for us on the eve of the 18th Anniversary of the University, at a time when we are also facing some regional challenges, such as massive migration of population and impact on sustainability in the future.

“In this regard, I think we are looking for US strategic support in order to continue the common mission that we have had since the founding of SEEU in 2001", said Rector Bexheti.

During the visit, Mr. Green and Rector Bexheti took a tour on the SEEU campus and visited the Fair of companies from North Macedonia supported by USAID, which had exhibited their products.
