SEEU Marks the 8th Anniversary of Establishment
18 November 2009On November 20, 2009, South East European University Tetovo will celebrate its 8th anniversary. For this special event, a celebration program is planned where the achievements of the University for this period will be presented, and the SEE University Doctoral Graduates will be promoted. The SEEU Students’ Union will give its contribution.
In this occasion the Rector, academician Alajdin Abazi will deliver a commencement speech about the establishment and development of the University.
South East European University was established eight years ago in the autumn of 2001. After enormous engagement of the OSCE High Commissioner for Minority Rights, H.E. Max Van der Stoel, it was proposed that Albanian language be used in higher education in the Republic of Macedonia. Under such historical circumstances, South East European University, located near the Sharr Mountains, became a reality. SEE University became the first institution of higher education accredited by the Board of Accreditation of Republic of Macedonia in 2001. It is important to recognize the support of the international community, the European Union and the USA. They assisted in making this idea of a modern and an open University for all generations that want to study to become a reality.
