The drafting of a new cooperation agreement was the main goal of Office of International Partnerships of Indiana University representatives Sunni Fass and Charles Reafsnyder, who stayed at Southeast European University this week (October 21-25, 2019).
Indiana University representatives met with SEEU Rector Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti and members of the Rector's Executive Team. They also held meetings with representatives of the Max van der Stoel Institute; with representatives of the Business Innovation Center; Student Services; the Career Center; and the University Library. They also met with Indiana University Alumni who are employed at South East European University.
There were three main issues discussed and which will be the basis of the new agreement, namely: consideration of the establishment of a Research Support Center; the establishment of a Curriculum Innovation Center and Internationalization; and strengthening the capacities of the Business Innovation Center and the Career Center.
During these meetings, information was exchanged about SEEU's needs in terms of internationalization and expansion of research capacities, as well as the strengthening of existing capacities for business innovation.
Concrete steps are expected to be taken after Indiana University representatives return to the US and continue to outline the concrete agreement.
To acknowledge their personal engagement, at the farewell meeting, Rector Bexheti, presented University symbols to the American colleagues.
