Rector Bexheti: SEEU is the best example of the concept of inclusive society

“The way how South East European University functions is the best example of the concept of inclusive society” said the Rector of SEEU, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti, at the International Conference "Towards the Concept of One Society and Inter-culturalism ", held on Thursday (3rd October 2019), in Skopje. The conference was also attended by the Pro-Rector for Research and International Cooperation, Besa Arifi.

Rector Bexheti, in his address supported the concept of inclusive society and gave examples about the way how SEEU functions by emphasizing that “good things are not easy and that the process of inclusion is a costly process in which all involved parties should believe.” He suggested that this strategy should be long-term and supported by all political entities in the country and that it should not be seen as a project for a cycle of governance. He further emphasized the importance of defining mechanisms for equal regional development, in order to ensure social cohesion. He also expressed the readiness for SEEU to be institutionally and voluntarily involved in the creation of mechanisms for the implementation of this strategy.

The Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Zoran Zaev; the Head of OSCE Mission to Skopje, Clemens Koja; the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, Lamberto Zannier and the Head of the Delegation of the European Union, Samuel Žbogar addressed the high-level international conference organized by the OSCE Mission to Skopje and the Prime Minister’s Office.

The aim of the Conference was to provide a broad platform for discussion about the Strategy "One Society for All", among representatives of social institutions, international organizations, the academic community and civil society.
