Expert Priebe at SEEU to mark May 9th – Europe Day

The South East European University (SEEU) Faculty of Law, in cooperation with the EU Info Centre in Skopje, organized several activities to mark May 9th - Europe Day.

For students, academic and administrative staff of SEEU--as well as the pupils of some high schools in the Municipality of Tetovo--a panel discussion was organized, where the honorary guest was Prof. Dr. Reinhard Priebe. Prof. Priebe was accompanied by professors from SEEU, specifically Prof. Dr. Blerim Reka, Doc. Dr. Bekim Nuhija and Prof.Dr. Besa Arifi, who discussed with him the importance and the history of this day, as well as Macedonia's aspirations and challenges towards EU membership.
The Rector of SEEU, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, and the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Doc.Dr. Emine Zendeli, both offered welcoming addresses.
According to Rector Dika, "Education should be seen as an integral part of economic and social policies, but also as an instrument for increasing the competitiveness of a society and as a guarantee for ensuring social cohesion and individual development of citizens".

Also, within the activities to mark this day, Prof. Dr. Jeton Shasivari also organized an oratory competition where our students and high school students from Tetovo competed, giving certificates, rewards and acknowledgments for participants and winners.

The winners of this competition were announced:

First place - Meirem Miftari - third year student;

Second Place - Adem Jashari - High School student "Kiril Pejqinovic"; and

Third Place - Gentiana Mustafa - third year student.

In the end, there was a cocktail for the attendees.
