Massive Participation of Companies at SEEU Career Fair

On Tuesday (24 April), at the South East European University campus in Tetovo, the 13th annual Career Fair was hosted. As always, it was organized by the SEEU Career Centre.

At the fair, students and graduates of SEEU were able to become acquainted with the terms and conditions for employment, plan their careers and decide on future work.

At this fair 64 companies and relevant institutions from Macedonia participated. According to the Rector of SEEU, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, the promotion of cooperation between higher education and business is one goal of this activity.

“Businesses in Europe have always achieved the greatest achievements thanks to cooperation with universities, as one example of joint achievements, especially within the framework of the key initiatives of the Europe 2020 Strategy," said Rector Dika.

“There is an urgent need to align ourselves with European trends in the creation of national and (why not) regional alliances of knowledge between higher education institutions and business, to join in the journey of stimulating innovative capacities in our societies," Rector Dika continued.

The Deputy Minister of Education of Macedonia, Mr. Arbër Ademi, also addressed the Career Fair, and noted that fairs lead towards innovative ideas.

“Companies appreciate their staff who emerge from this university, because graduates from this university have proven they have quality and professionalism," said Deputy Minister Ademi.

The President of the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia, Mr. Nebi Hoxha, said business opportunities are everywhere, and for students the first challenge is to find the idea.

“I think that companies recognize the potential of SEE University students,” said Mr. Hoxha.

The Head of the SEEU Career Centre, Ms. Burbuqe Kaprolli–Hamzai, thanked the participating companies, and emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation, with the Career Centre serving as a bridge between students and companies.

This fair is a good opportunity for students and potential employers to discuss employment opportunities and to promote the engagement of students as interns in their companies.
