The Career Fair was formally opened by the Rector of SEEU, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, who said that business in Europe has always worked best when undertaken in cooperation with universities, and that there is a large number of achievements that can be counted as an example of such joint achievements.
“This is the reason why the European Commission is trying to increase the number of graduates, to improve the quality of teaching and learning and to use to the maximum the ways by which higher education can help the EU economy,” Rector Dika observed.
The Vice Prime-Minister of the Republic of Macedonia for Implementation of the Ohrid Agreement, Dr. Festim Halili, said that his presence at the fair made him feel nostalgic, as he is himself a graduate of this university. Vice-Prime Minister Halili, in front of numerous students, said that “young people should be equipped with relevant skills and knowledge, so that they can compete and bloom at a global level.”
The Head of the SEEU Career Centre, Ms. Burbuqe Kaprolli, said that this fair is a good opportunity for students and potential employers to discuss employment opportunities and to promote the engagement of students as interns in their companies.
About 50 companies participated in the Career Fair. A majority of them both presented their professional activities and used this opportunity to establish contacts with students for possible engagements and employments.
