The director of the SEEU’s Institute “Max van der Stoel”, Prof. Dr. Veton Latifi, presented his scientific paper at Columbia University in the United States of America at the 21st annual World Convention of the Association of Studies of Nationalities. The Convention gathered together well-known scholars and professors from the field of international relations and political sciences from many countries of the world. In his lecture at Columbia University on April 16th, Prof. Dr. Veton Latifi presented his ideas on populism of the national discourses and reflection of inter-state disputes in the national rhetoric.
Prior to that, on April 14th, he lectured at the New York University. In front of the Master students of international relations at the NYU, Prof. Latifi lectured on the concepts of modern state building vs. national building, the role of the international community in this process, as well as on the approaches of the American foreign policies in the practices of contemporary state building and peaceful processes.
During his stay in the USA, on April 15th at the organization “Vatra” in the Bronx, the promotion of Prof. Latifi’s latest book “The new century of the Albanian politics” was conducted.
