SEEU Marks the Albanian National Flag Day

On Friday, 27 November 2015, South East European University (SEEU) formally marked Albanian National Flag Day and the Independence Day of the Albanian State on the 28 November.

In his address, SEEU Rector Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika said: “Flag Day ideals have served the purpose, for decades and for many generations, of keeping alive a sense of patriotism and vision so that the future is seen differently from our predecessors. In the spirit of these ideals, among Albanians, there is an ongoing desire to compete with the civilized world through competition in knowledge, culture and education. Our university, coincidentally established in November at a later date, did not run away from this great competition, but worked with the same commitment and codes of civilization as those involved in the November of Independence. In our educational project, we have joined our shining aspirations with European developmental trends in our culture of thinking and behaviour, by integrating the multi-ethnic dimension within these aspirations”.

The Rector’s Advisor for PR and Communication, Demush Bajrami said: “It is fortunate that our national history and culture had distinguished colossi who by their unsparing commitment in the political and cultural movement of the time succeeded in realizing concrete projects, which became models of national cultural and political philosophy”.

Students from the Faculty of Languages, Cultures and Communications were engaged students for the artistic part of the event and the Tetovo String Trio who played music with Albanian motifs.
