The Eleventh Cohort of SEEU Students Graduated

On Saturday (13 June 2015) graduates of South East European University (SEEU) paraded in front of their parents and professors as part of the Graduation Ceremony of the 11th Generation.

The ceremony was attended by students’ parents and official representatives of the Municipality of Tetovo and Ministry of Education and Science. The ceremony began with a singing of the University Anthem by the Choir of Shkodra led by the conductor and composer Zef Çoba.

“Today, we are together again to celebrate the results of our joint efforts. For a society, there is no greater pride than to donate to the present and future the energy of a generation that is educated in a modern spirit. With the help of our international friends from the beginning, with the support of the university, our graduates have shown commitment to serving and promoting knowledge and prosperity. In support of this commitment, I'm glad to inform you that today, after 14 years, we have finally received financial support for the university directly from the state budget for higher education”, said the Rector of SEEU, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika.

The Minister of Education and Science, Mr. Abdilaqim Ademi, attended the Graduation Ceremony of the 11th Generation.

“Today I am feeling privileged because I have the possibility to address graduates from the University which is ranked among the best institutions of higher education in the country and the wider region,' said Ademi. The Minister also pointed out that this University is a promoter of the changes and progressive ideas needed to enhance the quality of higher education.

"I feel safe, because the future of the Albanian nation in Macedonia is in the hands of educated people, talented people who are able to face the challenges of time, and to be equal in every arena of social life with their peers in our country and abroad” said Ademi.

“As our academic staff have developed a unique institution of higher education here in the Republic of Macedonia, they have provided you with an education comparable to that in other European countries, and we hope that you will use this not only for your own benefit, but for the benefit of others”, said the President of the University Board, Prof. Dr. Dennis Farrington.

On behalf of the students of generation Adelina Asani, from the Faculty of Business and Economics, addressed the audience. Ms. Asani thanked parents and teachers for the support they have provided.

“We are closing a chapter in our lives, but the book is yet to be finished. South East European University gave us papers and pencils so that we can keep writing the upcoming chapters and make bestsellers out of our books. In this journey, there are left many stairs to be climbed. This is just the beginning” she said.

An award of special recognition was given to the students with highest cumulative GPA, selected in each Faculty.
