The Fair was opened by the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, who reaffirmed his belief that this is an important event. "With this organization we prove that we build standards to compete in the global labour market. We, as a university, will continue our common journey with the business community to provide students with knowledge and skills" said Rector Dika.
Also attending the opening ceremony was the Minister of Education of Macedonia, Mr. Abdilaqim Ademi, who said that the Career Fair contributes to mutual cooperation between universities and businesses. "SEEU educates and prepares capable staff for the global market needs” said Minister Ademi.
The Fair was greeted by the President of the Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia, Mr. Menderes Kuçi, who said that the date of the fair coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Chamber and their participation here shows the importance that they attribute to this Fair.
Within the day’s events, the Career Centre organized a roundtable for the Faculty of Business and Economics with representatives of companies, students, and SEEU administrators. The purpose of this discussion was to gain feedback from employers, students and representatives of the Faculty about what areas can be improved upon to augment and deepen what the students learn.
The Career Fair was a good opportunity for students to meet with potential employers and discuss opportunities for employment, to be engaged as interns and to discuss the suitability of their qualifications and skills with the labour market requirements of specific companies and agencies.
The SEEU Career Fair was attended by about 40 companies recognized in Macedonia.
