More transparency for the new Law on Higher Education

In the last meeting of the Rectorate of the South East European University, among other issues, the recent postponement of the amendments of the Law on Higher Education by the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia was being discussed.

One year prolongation is a good step and it represents a unique opportunity for creation of a new Law on Higher Education and appropriate redesign of instruments for improvement and support of the quality of higher education.

We propose developing a transparent and qualitative process for realization of these goals, where the role of all factors – students, university representatives, Macedonian Academy of Arts and Sciences, government representatives and international experts will be determined but also deadlines and responsibilities of working groups, manner of development of dialogue and their active inclusion in the process will also be met.

South East European University expresses its willingness to contribute in this important process for the future of higher education in the Republic of Macedonia.
