In his remarks of welcome, Rector Dika noted that “In this unstable and economically difficult environment in the region--and, indeed, even in the sphere of higher education--we continue to promote the true value of higher education, by maintaining levels of comparability with academic, research and service standards of European and American universities. With the help of our founders, the United States and the EU, we have always cultivated the international character of the university. By following the best practices in this field, by recognizing the recommendations and requirements of the labour market and society, by designing study programmes for the region's future graduates, we can serve those who genuinely wish to accumulate knowledge, skills and competencies in order to meet an integrated market and ever-increasing competition. Quality assurance initiatives (and instruments for the measurement of the same) are in a continuous process of improvement, and we continue to adapt technologies of teaching, learning and forming skills under these premises. We are also developing the university campus in terms of our long-term goal to become the first eco-campus in the region of Southeast Europe”.
The Albanian MPs stressed their institutional support to deepen cooperation between SEEU and the universities and educational institutions in the Republic of Albania.
