Within in marking this jubilee, the title Doctor Honoris Causa was awarded to Mr. Nazif Destani, founder and president of the company Ecolog International and were promoted the latest generation of doctor of sciences who graduated in the academic year 2013/2014 at SEEU.
Summing up the achievements, the SEEU Rector Prof. Dr. Dika, said that “from idea to realization, wasn’t easy at all and we had to face many challenges, which we have overcome together and managed to be where we are today”.
“Thirteen years ago , was chosen the model of creating an institution of higher education which will not only formalize the use of the Albanian language, but it will also provide tertiary education comparable to international education trends by being open to all students regardless of their language of study”, said Rector Dika.
Like a special challenge for SEEU, Rector Dika mentioned the modernization of the University and perfection of the learning system among young generations, from where he appealed to young generations, to become partners of SEEU, in order to achieve the peaks of success through studying at this university.
“From our comments for a large percentage of non-interested young people to study we should find ways to encourage their potential and existing interest of every young person in the classroom by inviting them to be our partners during learning process.” , said Dika
“I believe that the shown success and results with students, this University will continue to keep them as a brand and additionally will invest for progress in more business segments, because they are key condition for improving the economy and reducing unemployment and attracting foreign direct investment.” said in this occasion the Prime-minster of Macedonia, Nikolla Gruevski.
SEEU President of Board, Prof. Dr. Dennis Farrington presented the Candidate for the Title “Honoris Causa”, Mr. Nazif Destani, Ecolog International, Founder and Chairman.
This year laureate Nazif Destani, in his speech said that he was very honoured with this title, stating his desire to work and not be too exposed.
“This is a great honour for me and my family. The company "Ecolog International", will continue to support the education of young people in the future”, said Destani.
The University anniversary was marked with putting into use the biggest heating plant with biomass – pellets, which has replaced the oil as heating energy.
“We greet the decision of the South East European University in Tetovo to promote the use of renewable energy sources, which practically implements an action from the Plan for low-emission campus that is expected to contribute, even symbolically in mitigation of climate change for which are needed inclusive procedures and innovative technology," said the Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, Nurhan Ibrahim, who symbolically inaugurated the Biomass Plant.
