“The European Union is entering a new phase when it is realistic to expect an intensification of the demands from Brussels that a reforming action-- or requirements from the Balkan countries--should diminish in populism (to gather more votes and to keep governance) and, in the category of concrete reforms, especially in the field of public policies against integration criteria ”, said the Director of the Max van der Stoel Research Institute, Prof. Dr. Veton Latifi.
“Continuously each year we are getting the same remarks from the European Commission, starting from the implementation of policies that have to do with political criteria, rule of law, interethnic relations and relations with neighbouring countries”, said Abdulla Azizi, SEEU professor and member of the Max van der Stoel Research Institute research group for European studies.
According to Professor Goran Ilic, (University “St. Kliment Ohridski” – Bitola) the situation is not so black. According to him, the problem of the name is the only great obstacle in the integration of the country into the EU.
The Dean of the Budapest Business School, College of International Management and Business, Prof. Dr. Tamás Szemlér presented the results of his research related to the public policy of the EU, particularly in the area of the budget for the period 2014-2020, by considering it an appropriate response to real and complex challenges of the EU.
