The delegation consisted of representatives--at the level of political directors--of the foreign ministries of the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, accompanied by the Ambassador of the Netherlands in Macedonia, Marriet Schuurman and the Belgian Ambassador, resident in Sofia and accredited for Macedonia, Anick Van Clster.
The Benelux diplomatic delegation met with the Pro-rector for Research and International Relations, Prof. Dr. Blerim Reka, Pro-rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Andrew Goodspeed and Pro-rector for Entrepreneurship, Prof. Dr. Miroljub Shukarov.
During the meeting, Pro-rector Reka informed the diplomats about the mission, current trends and the vision of South East European University. “Our university is the biggest international project still functional in Macedonia. It is an example of a multiethnic educational institution, " Pro-rector Reka observed.
Pro-rector Goodspeed informed the European diplomats about the University's academic programmes, the number of students and the quality of teaching.
Pro-rector Shukarov stressed the importance of finances in creating a high-quality teaching environment.
The Benelux diplomats are conducting a several day visit to Macedonia.
