Dr Benjamin Keatinge Presents a Paper on Modern Irish Poetry and the Holocaust

Dr Benjamin Keatinge, Head of English at the Faculty of Languages, Cultures and Communications presented a paper on 'Modern Irish Poetry and the Holocaust' at the annual conference of the Association for Franco-Irish Studies at the University of Reims, France on 28-29 May 2010.

The theme of the conference was 'History and Memory in France and Ireland' and the conference was attended by around 40 academics from France, Ireland, the United States, Japan, Germany and the United Kingdom.

The discussions, lectures and papers centred on the intersection of political, historical and cultural/literary aspects of memory as they relate to France and Ireland."
