In his welcoming speech, the President of the SEEU Board, Prof. Dr. Klaus Tochtermann, emphasized that before embracing the future, it is essential to express deep gratitude to the outgoing Rector, Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti. He highlighted that during his mandate, Prof. Bexheti led the University with vision, integrity, and unwavering commitment to academic excellence, consolidating SEEU as a leading regional hub of higher education that promotes innovation, inclusivity, and international cooperation. Prof. Tochtermann added that the appointment of Prof. Dr. Sadudin Ibraimi as the new Rector marks an important milestone in the University’s development and reflects the trust of the Board and the academic community in his leadership abilities.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science Lulzim Aliu emphasized that the Ministry of Education will continue to support this university. "We are convinced that with your experience, professionalism and commitment, you will successfully lead the university towards new challenges by prioritizing innovation, digitalization and student involvement in the decision-making process. The Ministry of Education and Science will continue to be a close partner of your university and other universities in the country" said Aliu.
After the official handover of the mandate, the former Rector, Acad. Prof. Dr. Abdylmenaf Bexheti, stated that “today is the day of passing the baton” and expressed his conviction that the new Rector will guide the University towards even brighter achievements. He underlined that Prof. Ibraimi has consistently demonstrated his capacities and will further energize the University’s growth and development with the support of staff and the academic community.
In his address, the new Rector, Prof. Dr. Sadudin Ibraimi, stressed that he assumes this responsibility with deep gratitude towards his predecessors and with a clear vision to further build on the strong foundations already in place. He committed to continuing the University’s thoughtful and ambitious development, expanding its impact on higher education in the country and the region. “Let us build together a university without borders, one that promotes the values of diversity, equality, responsibility, and service to society; a university that develops not only knowledge but also humanity,” stated Ibraimi.
The ceremony concluded with an artistic program and continued with a cocktail reception attended by guests from the country and the wider region.
