The election took place during the 10th General Assembly in Antwerp, where members acknowledged Tochtermann’s longstanding contributions to EOSC, including his role as EOSC-A Board Treasurer since 2021.
“This is a tremendous honour bestowed by our General Assembly, and a responsibility that I take up with great enthusiasm,” Tochtermann said. “With EOSC nearing its operational phase, the months ahead will be critical for shaping its future beyond 2027.”
In addition to his new role, Klaus Tochtermann serves as Director of the ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics and holds a chair at Kiel University. He is also the President of the Board of the South East European University (SEEU). His extensive experience in digital infrastructure and open science includes membership in European Commission High-Level Expert Groups and the German National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) Scientific Senate.
