The preliminary opinion of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe issued on 11 August recommends that Hungary does not apply new restrictions on foreign universities to those which are already working in the country, including the Central European University. One of the three authors of the opinion is Prof Dr Dennis Farrington, President of the University Board. The final opinion will be adopted in the plenary meeting of the Commission in October.
