Members of the Parliamentary Committee for Education of Kosovo Assembly visited SEEU

On 28 September the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Education of Kosovo Assembly, Nait Hasani, accompanied by other members of this committee, visited South East European University (SEEU) in Tetovo, where they were welcomed by the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, Pro-Rector for Academic Issues, Prof. Dr. Lejla Abazi and Rector's Advisor Dr. Sc. Demush Bajrami.

The Rector briefed the MPs about the academic and research activities of SEEU over the 15 years of its existence.

“Both the efforts of South East European University, and the directions of our University Board, have aimed at ensuring international quality standards at the university. Besides local and regional staff, the support of the international partner universities' staff has been welcomed to guide us in designing study programmes that preserve a good balance among knowledge, skills and competencies, in order for our study programmes to be at the same level as are their own" said the Rector. He continued by noting that the battle for management based on a diversity of cultures and trends of performance measurement and monitoring continues. “Academic and administrative staff of the university have the commitment and the competence to prepare students with skills relevant for the labour market. We are educating young generations that are self-confident, confident to face challenges and to be creative whilst also remaining culturally open towards differences, and to be reflective and positive for long awaited changes," he observed.

Members of the Parliamentary Committee for Education of Kosovo Assembly were satisfied with the achievements of South East European University and expressed their readiness to deepen cooperation between higher education institutions in Kosovo and SEEU.
