This celebration was organized by Roma students in cooperation with South East European University and the association Romaversitas. SEEU has contributed in different aspects in encouraging different Roma organizations in order to encourage young Roma generations to continue higher education through financial aid for covering study fees and expenses at the University.
The ceremony was greeted by SEEU Provost Prof. Dr. Andrew Goodspeed, on behalf of the University.
“Roma no longer are on the margins of society as in the past. They are now part of higher education institutions," said Deniz Ismaili, Head of Projects at Romaversitas.
The International Roma Day is declared in 1992 by the UN and EU at the proposal of the International Organization Romano Union.
