International Conference from Balkanization to Eutopia

“The Balkans in the New Millennium: from Balkanization to Eutopia”, was the topic of the International Conference, that was held on Friday (20 June 2014), organized by the South East European University and University “St. Cyril and Methodius” Skopje.

The main issue which was discussed at this conference is whether the Balkans can be Europeanized, or will continue to live in utopia.

The Rector South East European University, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika, in his greeting speech, stressed the importance of the conference in terms of European integration prospects of the region.

“To avoid the Balkanization, the beginning of the third millennium is a good chance for salvation from the past”, said Prof. Pajaziti Ali, one of the organizers of the conference.

The conference was attended by 50 researchers from various countries.
