SEEU hosted a Roundtable on the Topic: 'Education for Employment'

On Thursday, 23 March, a roundtable was held on the subject of 'Education for Employment' at South East European University (SEEU) in Tetovo. The roundtable was organized by the Future Business Leaders Club and the Faculty of Business and Economics, and it was attended by students and teachers of high schools from Tetovo, Gostivar, Kicevo and Struga. Alumni of the Faculty of Business and Economics attended this meeting, to give their perspectives on their careers and educations.

The Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics, Academician Izet Zeqiri, said that the meeting addressed challenges relating to the choice of profession and the problems that the labour market faces in terms of employment and unemployment.

According to Academician Abdylmenaf Bexheti, one of unemployment factors in the country--and which leads to the departure of graduates towards Europe for a better perspective--is that secondary education and higher education do not bear much relevance to the demands and needs of the labour market.

In this round table, high school students were informed about the impact of higher education in preparing them for the labour market. This was emphasized by the panel, which consisted of university professors and alumni, who put emphasis on their experiences, especially in how their university education has helped them in finding employment.
