During their visit to the SEEU Technology Park facilities they were able to become closely acquainted with the management and operation of this Park. The Rector, Prof. Dr. Zamir Dika and the Technology Park Director Prof. Dr. Azir Aliu, informed them in detail about the processes and achievements of this unit, and the excellent opportunities for cooperation based on the Triple Helix model.
“This successful formula in developed countries allows for the creation of strong links among Academia, the private sector (industry), and government institutions, in order to create opportunities for applicable projects that aim to develop the economy in the country and the establishment of R & D companies as formulae of sustainable development in the private sector. Today, at a global level, a lot is invested in projects that connect Academia with the business sector in order to create projects that will have a rapid impact on the economies of countries. Triple-helix has found its place in EU financial funding where today Horizon 2020 has a budget of 80 billion Euro--and COSME 3 billion--to create consortia among the Academy, Industry and the State Institutions. Now, the Technology Park at SEEU convinces us that even in our countries cooperation between universities, the private sector and the government can function positively and offer very good results. Today we saw that the Technology Park holds private companies that are located on this campus in order to be closer to the students and professors, with the aim of improving human resources as a basic element for a successful business“ said Minister Ademi.
The purpose of the visit was to observe the work of the Technology Park and to assess the results acheived during the 3 year period since its foundation as a successful model, and the first of its kind in the Republic of Macedonia.
