On behalf of the Faculty of Languages, Cultures, and Communications of South East European University, you are cordially invited to participate in a ‘webinar’ on the theme: ‘Reforms in English Teacher Education in the Balkan Region.’
The webinar will run on Friday, 12 March 2021, from 16:00-18:00 with live streaming. Participation will be online (through Google meet) and free of charge.
The intention of the webinar is to bring together English teachers from multiple universities and colleges in the Balkan region to examine what reforms in English Teacher Education may be needed or desirable in 2021—and beyond. It is emphatically intended to be a professional discussion amongst colleagues; participants will not be asked to represent their institutions formally, but rather to express their own opinions in an open and collegial forum. Each invited participant will be allotted a period of 6-7 minutes to present comments or ideas, and in the second half of the webinar will be able to participate in a moderated discussion.
Within the broad topic of ‘Reforms in English Teacher Education in the Balkan Region,’ any comments or opinions will be open for discussion. Thus, possible topics include, but are by no means restricted to:
- What is the general state of the art of English Teacher Education from their point of view? (perhaps with reference to your institution)
- What and how will the online teaching during this period affect the training curricula?
- What in their opinion should be the priority in this area? (Example - increasing the language competences of the future teachers, their methodological preparation, their general educational background etc.)
Participants will receive a certificate for their involvement.
If you are available to participate, we would be happy to have your contribution. Please RSVP to: (Contact address—Shpresa Gashi email@example.com)
