About the TOEFL® ITP

The TOEFL ITP: (70 Euro) Listening and Reading test:  Measurement of academic English skills (Paper Based Test)

The TOEFL ITP tests measure core English skills using 100 percent academic content similar to what is used in actual classroom tasks. This makes the tests an essential tool for:

Placement in intensive English-language programs requiring academic English proficiency at a college or graduate level.

Progress monitoring in English-language programs stressing academic English proficiency.

Exiting English-language programs by demonstrating proficiency in English listening and reading.

Admissions to short-term, non-degree programs in English-speaking countries where the sending and receiving institutionsagree to use TOEFL ITP scores.

Admissions to undergraduate and graduate degree programs in non-English speaking countries where English is not the dominant form of instruction.

Admissions and placement in collaborative international degree programs where English-language training will be a feature of the program.

Scholarship programs, as contributing documentation for academic English proficiency.

Detailed Score Reports

All TOEFL ITP score reports include:

·       individual information for your program to distribute to students

·       institutional information and a score roster for internal use only

·       each section is scored separately to assist you in determining which skills need more work, enabling you to tailor learning activities to meet the needs of each student

TOEFL ITP test forms should not be substituted for the TOEFL iBT test. Individuals who wish to have score reports sent to other institutions or agencies must take the TOEFL iBT test.

TOEFL ITP scores are valid for two years. Because language proficiency can change considerably in a relatively short period of time, scores more than two years old cannot be reported or verified. If a test taker took the TOEFL ITP test more than two years ago and needs to submit scores to an agency or institution, he or she must take the test again to have scores reported.
