Six SEEU students are currently in a student exchange programme, with a total number of 35 students that so far have realized either exchange or have conducted comprehensive studies in one of eight European universities that are partners in the BASILEUS project.
Although the BASILEUS project was not chosen for funding by the European Commission for the next academic year, this did not prevent the IRO to promote schemes and alternative options for students and staff who seek scholarships to study outside the country. Alternative possibilities include projects such as JoinEuSEE, Euroweb and Eraweb or scholarship basis of S4WB.
During October, the IRO participated in the scholarship fair which was held in the National Library in Skopje, attended by 25 universities and foundations from Macedonia, the region and wider Europe. This fair, the second in a row in Macedonia, gave students from Macedonia information on scholarship offers and assisted students in scholarship opportunities for study abroad.
As part of the activities for promoting scholarship opportunities for study and research abroad during October, November and December, the International Relations Office secured SEEU students and staff with representatives of foundations and institutions such as theGerman Academic Exchange Service(DAAD), French Institute and Campus France that function within the French Embassy in Skopje, Youth Education Forum, and representatives of the Slovak Embassy, which presented study and research opportunities.
Related activities will continue in the next semester and the SEEU IRO plans to have more presentations for new scholarship opportunities for students and staff, thus enabling the SEEU community to be part of academic world in motion.
