The programme for Sustainable Tourism has a primary goal to provide students with knowledge of tourism in order to raise the awarenessabout the environment and realize a sustainable development of tourism. Furthermore, the program provides students with an extensive knowledge in the field of business and tourism and provides an impact on society globally.
When students graduate from this program, they can obtain many managerial positions in the tourism industry, such as:
- Regional tourism manager, tourism adviser, destination marketing manager, tourism entrepreneur, etc.
- Touristic local developer and promoter of Rural, Eco-tourism, as well as Sport Tourism in their places.
- Work in other touristic agencies and institutions and prepare touristic plans, research the possibilities for development of sustainable tourism, etc.

After finishing the course Albanian Language for Professional Purposes the students will be able practically use the knowledge which will serve them throughout their employment as well as in their future carrier. Students will be expected to know the differences in spoken and written language, the characteristics of professional communication (report, CV, email), the specifics of professional writing, the most common grammatical forms, to recognize the differences amongst the scientific, administrative and the socio political styles of writing. The students should be able to know the rules of how to organize interviews and debates, to know how to properly write cover letters and to interpret particular texts in a written and spoken form.

Also, students will be introduced to paraphrasing and citing rules as well as will be made aware of what plagiarism is. Giving feedback on students’ pieces of writing will involve self-correction, peer-correction and teacher-correction of content, organization and language errors.

Having completed this course the students will able to identify global questions and problems from the perspectives of different cultures, the communication dynamics in the other cultures, the similarities and the differences between their values and those of other cultures, as well as the similarities and differences between their communication practices and those from other cultures. In addition, students are expected to become more aware of the stereotypes that society has for different cultures and as a result will better understand their place in the global community. The students will start thinking critically about topics related to their ethnicity, gender identity, class, religion, national origin, age and other demographic characteristics and their impact on the communication process. After finishing Intercultural Studies, the students will also gain communication skills for working in groups through participation in research projects and will acquire the necessary skills to present their research projects.

Additional elements that will be covered will be how to conduct a self-evaluation, how to manage inter-office conflict, and how to seek promotions actively. Although the primary focus of this course will be on white collar employment, the skills obtained through the instruction are applicable to the job search process generally.

Students will understand and manage simple routine exchanges without undue effort, make themselves understood and exchange ideas and information on familiar topics in predictable everyday situations (provided the other person helps if necessary). Students will be able to deal with everyday situations with predictable content (though they will generally have to compromise the message and search for words). Upon completion of this level, students should be significantly more able to sustain monologues. Students will read and comprehend simple texts and respond critically to them. Basic Skills English Level 1 is a one-semester course meeting 6 class hours per week. The full length of the course is 14 weeks. By the end of this course students are expected to be at level of A2 CEF (Common European Framework) and should be able to understand and use familiar expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type; introduce themselves and others and ask and answer questions about personal details, describe their daily routines; talk about their family; describe a person/place/room; give directions and interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help. Basic Skills English Level 2 is a one-semester course meeting 6 class hours per week. The full length of the course is 14 weeks. By the end of this course students are expected to be at level of B1 CEF (Common European Framework) and are expected to be able to talk about past experiences, discuss the weather, go shopping in English, discuss future arrangements, use comparatives and superlatives to describe people or things and write a descriptive paragraph.

Basic Skills English Level 3 is a one-semester course meeting 4 class hours each week. The full length of the course is 14 weeks. By the end of this course students should be at level of B2 CEF (Common European Framework). Students will understand and manage simple routine exchanges without undue effort, make themselves understood and exchange ideas and information on familiar topics in predictable everyday situations (provided the other person helps if necessary). Students will be able to deal with everyday situations with predictable content (though they will generally have to compromise the message and search for words). Upon completion of this level, students should be significantly more able to sustain monologues. Students will read and comprehend simple texts and respond critically to them. In terms of writing, students will be able to write logically organized and connected narratives.

Basic Skills English Level 4 is a one-semester course meeting 4 class hours per week. The full length of the course is 14 weeks. By the end of this course the students are expected to be at level of B2 CEF (Common European Framework). The students should be able to understand the main points of clear standard speech on familiar matters Students should be able to understand extended speech or lectures provided the topic is familiar. They should also be able to understand texts that consist mainly of high frequency everyday language. Students should be able to understand texts which describe events, articles and reports concerned with temporary problems in which the writers adopt particular attitudes or viewpoints. Students should also be able to initiate and maintain conversation on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. They should be able to write clear, well-organized texts (paragraphs, essays) on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.

Academic English is a one-semester course meeting for 2 class hours per week. The full length of the course is 14 weeks. The focus of the course is on two skills often neglected in general English programs: reading and writing. Following research into developing language competence, these two skills are dealt with together. The course covers academic reading and writing interactively. In other words, techniques associated with one skill are closely linked in the course plan with similar skills in the other.

EU Regulations for Tourism
This course studies the application of EU regulations in the field of tourism in terms of meeting the needs of businesses and career development. Some of the topics to be covered are: history of law, contracts, relationships between the employer and the employee, consumer protection, instruments of negotiation and other legal instruments. Students will acquire and apply their knowledge in different activities in the classroom in terms of developing skills in critical thinking. Topics include: law, ethics, judicial system, contracts, debts, claims and bankruptcy.

Business Ethics
The subject of ethics is morality in its complexity, contradiction, incompleteness. Business ethics is a part of applied ethics dealing with the ethical issues arising in different professions( accountants, auditors, investment fund managers) in different branches of business ( insurance, financial transactions) in corporate governance, highlighting the very thin , fluctuating or invisible line which separates what is ethical from what is unethical. The course shows the contradictions between codified ethics, law and practice, namely not everything which is legal is ethical and not everything which is ethical is also legal. The importance of business ethics is ever growing and is especially important in building a normally functioning market economy in Macedonia.

Albanian Language for Professional Purposes
After finishing the course Albanian Language for Professional Purposes the students will be able practically use the knowledge which will serve them throughout their employment as well as in their future carrier. Students will be expected to know the differences in spoken and written language, the characteristics of professional communication (report, CV, email), the specifics of professional writing, the most common grammatical forms, to recognize the differences amongst the scientific, administrative and the socio political styles of writing. The students should be able to know the rules of how to organize interviews and debates, to know how to properly write cover letters and to interpret particular texts in a written and spoken form.

In this course students’ academic writing skills will be enhanced in a variety of ways. Students will be enabled to communicate their ideas in a clear, fluent and effective way in order to produce a piece of writing. Students’ academic writing skills will be developed through activities that promote writing like: writing different types of paragraphs and essays. Also, students will be introduced to paraphrasing and citing rules as well as will be made aware of what plagiarism is. Giving feedback on students’ pieces of writing will involve self-correction, peer-correction and teacher-correction of content, organization and language errors.

They will be able to reflect critically on different topics, to make conclusions and they will develop skills for excellent written and oral communication in Macedonian.

By the end of each level the students are expected to write an essay and a research paper based on the rules learned during the semester. Specifically, from them it is expected to know the function, the structure and the different types of paragraphs, ways of choosing research topics, collecting the material, the rules for source documentation and the final model.

After completing each level students will be able to gain appropriate knowledge according to the European Language Framework (specifically and concretely determined by level). Upon completion of this course the students will gain knowledge about the communication process, the ethical responsibilities of public speaking and the different types of informative and persuasive speeches. In addition, the students will acquire skills necessary for preparing and delivering different types of speeches, audience analysis, researching speech topics, preparing speeches etc. After completing the Public Speaking course, the students will be able to think critically through constructive self-criticism and criticism towards the speeches of the others.

Having completed this course the students will able to identify global questions and problems from the perspectives of different cultures, the communication dynamics in the other cultures, the similarities and the differences between their values and those of other cultures, as well as the similarities and differences between their communication practices and those from other cultures. In addition, students are expected to become more aware of the stereotypes that society has for different cultures and as a result will better understand their place in the global community. The students will start thinking critically about topics related to their ethnicity, gender identity, class, religion, national origin, age and other demographic characteristics and their impact on the communication process. After finishing Intercultural Studies, the students will also gain communication skills for working in groups through participation in research projects and will acquire the necessary skills to present their research projects.

The course Communication Skills is designed to enable students to practically apply interpersonal communication. Students will have the opportunity to learn interpersonal skills (such as perception, listening, verbal and non verbal communication); public speaking (such as: organization, delivery and the basics of writing public speeches) and small group communication (such as: leadership, self confidence and listening). Developing even a simple web page according to current standards requires knowledge of Hypertext Markup Language (XHTML) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Most of the websites also use images, whether in the form of banners, buttons, logos, photos or scans. Adobe Fireworks is built as a tool to create and manipulate images from the web and to allow the makers to optimize these images in order to reduce the file size.
