Through the foundation of the SEE University, owing to USAID donations
for collaboration with US Universities, the International Foundation
Board accepted the University of Indiana’s bid for partnership
with SEEU. It has cooperated in training local staff (English Language
and IT), and has provided curricula advice in each Faculty and arranged
a valuable programme for staff development.)
A three-year major collaboration project with France is currently
in effect. This project is managed by the on–site full time
coordinator, Michel Crepon. The project has it’s origins in
preliminary contacts between SEEU and French Universities of Nantes,
Anges and Rennes 1, and contributes towards the capacity building
by reinforcing pedagogy, initiate and develop a regular cooperation
with European Universities; set up a regular trend of visiting professors
from the universities of Nantes, Angres and Rennes 1; provide new
editions of working pedagogic materials which are translated into
Albanian and Macedonian Languages.
In addition, the University has benefited from ad hoc collaborations
with academic staff from Germany, Sweden, UK, Albania and Denmark,
and from outside Europe, with staff from Australia, the United States
and Canada.
The University is open for International Corporation. It takes part
actively in different projects; such as on-going TEMPUS projects
‘Management and e-Business Education in Computer Science’
where SEEU – CST Faculty is Member of the Consortium. Also,
some of the personnel have successfully obtained TEMPUS Individual
Mobility Grants such as: Vladimir Radevski ‘Study the Contents
and Management of the Academic Curriculum in the Field of Communication
Sciences and Technologies – Updating Procedures’ June
11-27, 2004, University of Nantes, France.
The South East European University, in co-operation with its partner,
Indiana University, through the program HELP (Higher
Education Linkage Programme) acquires support in strengthening
academic programs and faculty development. These enhancement programmes
are based in the CST and BA Faculty. Applications include fostering
academic and industry networks and providing development work strategies.
The HELP mission will also support faculty staff development, through
Master level Fellowships, and syllabi and curriculum development,
via the Syllabi Designing for Distance Education Program, Courses
via Distance Programme.
HELP will also support the CST Faculty in establishing a technology
infrastructure, for example, the Establishment of a Specialised
Multimedia Digitalisation Laboratory for Digital Media courses.
The Instructional Support Centre (ISC) is a two-year Certificate
Program. Teachers will experience training in modern interactive
teaching methods, English teaching, use of new technologies for
teaching, IT skills, Angel software applications, designing on-line
courses, etc
