The study program aims to:

  • With the completion of these studies students acquire 60 ECTS and may continue their postgraduate studies at those higher education institutions in the country and abroad who have harmonized equivalent and/or analog studies according to the Bologna process.
Knowledge and understanding
  • Understand the natural processes that take place in the environment.
  • Environmental topics such as the greenhouse effect, acid rain, air pollution.
  • The importance of effective action to protect and improve the environment.

  • Scientific research.
  • Knowledge of environmental, economic and educational processes.
  • Following the scientific global trends and solutions in the area of prevention of crime.

  • Knowledge of concepts, strategies and possibilities of their application in solving certain problems in the field of environmental management.

  • Skills in collection, preparation, analysis and display of environmental data necessary for its management

Semester 1

  • [6 ECTS] Research Methodology
    The course objective is to acquaint students with the appropriate meanings of research methodology; Introducing the essence of scientific research, the research methodology, research procedure, types of research papers. Special attention is paid to students learning how to perform scientific research, proper interpretation and evaluation of research results as well how to write a scientific paper. Students are also familiarized with the procedure and the stages of writing the master thesis.
  • [6 ECTS] Information Systems for Environmental Management
    The course aims to acquire knowledge of the Information Technologies, risks and impacts on the environment and health, specific knowledge of the IT and ways to evaluate IT on economic aspect.
  • [6 ECTS] Natural Resources
    The course objectives are: - to provide students with advanced knowledge of the environment, introduction to natural resources and concerns over their availability and the dangers of pollution, - the human role as a key factor of environmental pollution and preservation as well as optimal management of the natural resources, - to create and develop good habits to help and protect the environment, to raise ecological awareness and to promote sustainable use of natural resources, - to acquire knowledge on national and global policies on environment (and natural resources), - management of natural resources as a condition for the sustainable development, - to provide students with opportunities to increase understanding on the national strategy of the RM on rational use of natural resources and sustainable development strategies.

Semester 2

  • [24 ECTS] Master Thesis
    After passing examinations, the student may begin the procedure of filing, making and public defense of thesis topic. The student chooses the mentor, who gives him instructions for preparation of the application of master theses. The application must be granted by the Graduate Studies Educational Collegium and the Scientific and Academic Council of the Faculty. After preparing the final version of Masters Thesis, Academic-Scientific Council of Faculty forms a three-member committee, which prepares the report, which is may be accepted or rejected. The positive report is approved by the Academic-Scientific Council and it is set the date of public defense. After successfully defending the thesis, the student gains the degree - Master of Environmental Management.
